Wolfgang is chief executiveofficer of Goldman SachsBank Europe SE. Inaddition, he is head of Goldman Sachs inGermany and Austria. In this role, Wolfganghas overall responsibility for the firm’sbusiness across the region. Wolfgang is amember of the European ManagementCommittee, Investment Banking ExecutiveCommittee, EMEA Inclusion and DiversityCommittee and EMEA Conduct Committee.Wolfgang joined Goldman Sachs in Mergers& Acquisitions in London in 1993 and laterworked in the Principal Investment Area. Hesubsequently served as co-head ofInvestment Banking for Russia and Centraland Eastern Europe before leading theEuropean Industrials Group in InvestmentBanking. Wolfgang was named managingdirector in 2004 and partner in 2008.Wolfgang earned an MSc from ViennaUniversity and a PhD in Economics from theEuropean Business School.
