If before or during the event, you encounter any problems / error messages, follow the steps below. If your problem is not covered below or continues to arise please contact participants@cff-nyc.com or one of the Brella success-team members on our event platform

How to Setup Your Brella Account

In order to access out event, you will need to setup your Brella Account. If you don´t already have an account follow the steps below:

Step 1: If you want to use the web app go to next.brella.io or use the link you were provided within the invitation E-Mail
Step 2: Now you can log in via E-Mail or Google
Step 3: Check your E-Mail inbox as you will have received a new registration mail from Brella
Step 4: Open the E-Mail and click on the green button that says “Log into Brella”

Now you receive a message which says that you logged in successfully. You should now go back to the open next.brella.io tab

Step 5: Brella will suggest you create an account so just click “Create Account”
Step 6: Accept the terms of use and get started
Step 7: Fill in basic details (If it says “Authentication required” scroll down click cancel and restart the session)
Step 8: Afterwards you will be directed to the Event tab, click “Join New Event” and put in the join code you received via E-Mail

If you log in via the Brella App (Available in the App Store or Google Play)

Step 9: Open the app and use your E-Mail
Step 10: You are now required to check your E-Mail inbox as you will have received a new registration mail from Brella
Step 11: Open the E-Mail and click on the green button that says “Log into Brella”

How to Request a Meeting (Not for Livestream Tickets)

If you want to talk to another person taking part in the event you need to set up a meeting with them. To do that it is important for you to know whether there are scheduled networking slots for a meeting or not.

If there are scheduled networking slots: 
Step 1: Log into Brella/open the app and go to the event, then click on "People" on the left side of the page
Step 2: Click “Chat / Suggest a Meeting” on the profile of the person you want to get in touch with
Step 3: A new window will pop up. On the right side of the window, you see different time slots the person you want to contact has available
Step 4: Choose a slot and request a meeting by clicking on “Suggest Meeting”. Now you have the chance to introduce yourself in a text field before sending your request
Step 5: After you requested a meeting you can once again send a message to convince the person to meet you!
Step 6: Now wait if the other party accepts or declines your request. To find out how the person reacts on your reacts click the chat box icon on the top right next to your profile picture and select the chat with the person

If the are no scheduled networking slots:
Step 1: Log into brella/open the app and go to the event, then click on people on the left side of the page
Step 2: Click “Suggest Meeting” on the profile of the person you want to talk to
Step 3: After clicking the box a message field will appear. It is important that you write in the message box why you want to meet the person
Step 4: After sending the request you have a last chance to tell the person why they should spend their time with you
Step 5: Now wait until the person reacts to your request. You can see their reaction in the chat. To see the chat click the chat icon left next to your profile picture on the top right

Troubleshooting

Problems with Login

Are you having any issues with logging back into Brella? Are the breakout rooms, virtual meetings not opening, or any other similar inconvenience?

First, try out the following general troubleshooting steps:
1: Ensure you are using a modern browser, preferably Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari.
2: Log out and log back into your account at next.brella.io, and refresh your browser.
3: Try to clear cache
    3.1: Go to next.brella.io, right-click your mouse, open the list, and select 'Inspect.'
    3.2: A new controller bar will open. Select the option 'Application.'
    3.3: On the right side of the bar, click on 'Indexed DB' from the Storage section.
    3.4: Select 'local forage - http://next.brella.io.'
    3.5: Finally, click on 'Delete Database' and Refresh the page from the top icon on your browser search bar.
4: Update your browser to the latest version.
5:
 Try a different browser. Chrome is the ideal browser to use with Brella. ❗Note that Internet Explorer is not compatible with Brella.
6: Use a different device: use a personal computer, iPad/tablet, or you can ask your colleague to test it on their computer.
7: Try a different network: Does it work with different Wi-Fi? (Tip: Testing with a hotspot of your phone is an alternative)

I don't receive the authentication email in my inbox. What should I do?
Sometimes network restrictions prevent automated emails from coming through due to a strict corporate firewall setup, as there is a spammer deny lists. Organizations enable this type of security to block emails that are unwanted or unknown.

Sometimes network restrictions prevent automated emails from coming through due to a strict corporate firewall setup, as there is a spammer deny lists. Organizations enable this type of security to block emails that are unwanted or unknown.
To solve this issue, please add our domains to your computer:

If you're using a public email (such as @gmail.com, @yahoo.com)*, add the below to your email contacts list, then re-request a login email if needed
noreply@brella.io
noreply@trymagic.com
Enterprise or corporate email
If you are using an enterprise or business email, ask your company's IT team to allowlist our domain:
*@brella.io
*@trymagic.com
If neither of these methods work, please reach out to brella.io! It's possible that you accidentally reported their messages as spam, resulting in their SMTP provider being unable to deliver any additional emails to your address.

My join code doesn´t work. What should I do?


Error message: "Your join code is invalid"
When you receive the "your join code is invalid" message before the event or while the event is ongoing, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: The unique join code you received is for one-time use only.
Step 2: If you have already used it and created an account, you don't need to input the code again. You need to go to next.brella.io
Step 3: or the Brella Mobile App and log in with your email. Your events are stored on My Events.

Error message: "Your seat is full"
When you receive the "your seat is full" message before the event or during the event, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: The unique join code you received is for one-time use only.
Step 2: If you have already used it and created an account, you don't need to input the code again. The code has been used; therefore, you go to next.brella.io or the Brella Mobile App and log in with your email.💡The event should be stored on My Events. If you don't find the event there, request a new join code from the CFF-Team
Step 3: If you are unsure whether you used the join code, please get in touch with us and explain that you used the join code AND give your email which you registered for the event. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
Step 4: If you didn't use the join code and still receive the error message, please contact us.
Step 5: If you used the join code and deleted your account, please ask the event organizers for a new join code.
