Michael joined Bain Capital in 2001 and currently serves as Chair of Europe Private Equity, overseeing the firm’s industrial and healthcare investments. He is also responsible for Bain Capital’s activities in the German-speaking regions, bringing extensive expertise in private equity, investment strategy, and value creation.
Prior to joining Bain Capital, he worked for The Carlyle Group in Germany. Earlier in his career, he was an assistant lecturer at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität, specializing in accounting, auditing, and finance.
Michael holds a summa cum laude Ph.D. from Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität, where he also earned his MBA.
